The scans of my 1989 Essex negatives are complete. The first was inadvertantly scanned in colour, which gives a purplish tone which I rather like and have stayed with. My first printing of this series (back in the day) was done on Agfa Portriga Speed paper, which, when seleneum toned, gave very rich purplish shadows. I have compared these scans with some remaining original prints and they are a pretty good match. I was using a rather nasty Ariston enlarging lens at the time, so the new versions are noticably sharper in the corners than the old.
