Great Scottish icons include tartan, the thistle and the Tunnock’s Teacake. Dancing teacakes featured in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. In Uddingston of an evening, I had to have a look. Considering they proudly claim to sell of five million every day, the factory is quite small. It’s workers are well catered for, however: there are three pubs, four churches and two betting shops in the sourrounding four streets.
